ADMISSION AND ENROLMENT RULES

Pupils admission in the school is regulated by chapter VIII article 162 and following of the Instrucciones de 24 de mayo de 2005 that regulate the organization and operation of the Spanish State owned teaching centers abroad. The Spanish Education Office in the United Kingdom makes public every year admission and enrolment instructions where all the information about how to apply for our school in each stage can be found.

DATES AND DEADLINES

Keep an eye on the school's website and social networks, but as a guideline, each year there are two different periods for applying for places:
- November/December: Applications are made for places in the Nursery and Early Years stage for the following academic year. The process, which includes compulsory interviews for applicants and their parents, ends with the publication of the definitive list of those admitted at the end of the year and the payment of enrolment fees in January and February.

- Marzo / Abril: Places are requested for the rest of the stages of Primary Education, E.S.O. and Bachillerato. The process includes the compulsory entrance tests for the different courses and ends with the payment of the registration fees in June and July. Models of admission tests for the different courses can be consulted on this same page.

WHICH AGE GROUP CORRESPONDS TO WHICH GRADE?

Unlike the English education system, which takes into account the academic year for the assignment of a year, the Spanish education system takes into account the calendar year of birth, i.e. students must have reached the required age for each year by 31 December. Below is a table of correspondences between years of birth and academic year:

LATE REGISTRATIONS

There is also the possibility of enrolling outside the official deadlines in the event that there are still vacancies in the course for which you are applying (consult the secretary's office of the centre for the course in question). Applications for admission after the deadline must be submitted, duly completed, via the Institute's official mail canada.blanch.uk@educacion.gob.es and await the assessment of your application by the admissions team. This process also includes taking the corresponding entrance exams and, in the event of being admitted, the registration fees will be paid for the entire course regardless of the date of incorporation.

VISITING DAYS AT THE IEVCB

If you want to know our school, you can come to our 'Open mornings', where our staff will show you the school. To register, please fill in the following form.

ADMISSION TESTS

In order to be admitted to our school it is necessary to pass an admission test of:

- NURSERY, EARLY YEARS and 1st year of PRIMARY. In order to determine, among other possible aspects, the applicant's knowledge of the Spanish language, and after analysing, where appropriate, the report from the school of origin, the Admissions Committee will invite the parents or legal guardians and the students to an interview. For the purposes of admission, knowledge of Spanish is not a requirement for applicants for these courses.

-  Years 2 to 6 of PRIMARY EDUCATION, ESO and BACH. Written test on the subjects of Spanish Language, English and Mathematics. The date and time of these tests will be determined in the Admission Instructions for each year and for those applications received after the deadline, the student will be summoned individually. Some models of previous years' tests can be downloaded below:

ENROLMENT FEES

In accordance with the provisions of Real Decreto 1027/1993, which regulates educational action abroad, Spanish and foreign students at Spanish state-owned schools abroad pay fees determined by Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional (MEFP). The prices of the fees for each academic year are published in the BOE annually around June by Order of the MEFP and can be consulted in the Documents section of the School's office.
